Hi Friends!

This month we’re changing up our Grocery Run (GR) to help with the Mississauga Food Bank’s $25 for 25 campaign, in honour of their 25th anniversary!

  • With a donation of $25, The Mississauga Food Bank can distribute $210.25 worth of donated food – that’s enough to feed a family of 5 for their once monthly visit that provides 7-10 days worth of food!
  • With a financial donation of $250, The Mississauga Food Bank can distribute $2102.50 worth of donated food – that’s 841 pounds of food to breakfast programs that allows them to feed kids in need before they head off to school.
  • With a financial donation of $2500, The Mississauga Food Bank can distribute $21,025 worth of donated food – that’s 8410 pounds of food to be supplied to one of our member agency food banks – enough to feed 336 people!

So instead of our usual GR this Saturday, we’re going to do a group donation instead, for their campaign.

If you are able to contribute to this month’s event – please let me know by this Sat. Feb 26th (tomorrow!). We’re encouraging everyone to donate at least $25 each, this month, in support of the food bank.

After I’ve collected everyone’s pledges, I will make one group donation. :)

love+prayers,
Cecilia

reasons why: a working manifesto

Manifesto: a public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives, as one issued by a government, sovereign, or organization.

1. A fire burns within to see God’s justice come.

2. We’re set apart for God to do his work: bringing all creation into right relationship with him. To proclaim the gospel not only through words, but through actions.

3. We believe our flawed and incomplete efforts are better than no effort at all.

4. God’s love and salvation not only transforms personal, spiritual salvation, but has power to change the social, physical, emotional, and mental dimensions too.

5. We desire to join as a community to a journey for change, together through struggles and joys.
