Knitting Club - March 2010We haven’t had a chance to count the squares we’ve received one month into the squares collection… but it must be nearing the 100 mark!!! You folks are amazing. Thank you for all your hard work!

Date: Friday, April 16th
Time: 7-9pm (drop in any time!)
Place: MCBC, Room 802
Bring: knitting needles or crochet hooks (any size is fine); yarn (any you have!)

If you don’t have needles/hooks, please buy US/Canadian size 8 or 4mm needles. If you don’t feel comfortable buying them, leave a comment and we’ll help you get a set. If you don’t have yarn, have no fear! We have a box of yarn you can use.

Beginners - we will learn how to purl in our next meeting. If you need help fixing your squares or with casting off, bring along your work!

Experienced knitters – you can move onto other projects besides squares if you are up for the challenge. Bring any hat/toque, scarf, mitten patterns you might have. If not, we have a patterns book available for you to look at.

E-mail list – if you didn’t get an e-mail from us, you probably are not on the e-mail reminder list. Leave a comment with us if you want to be added.

Let your friends and family know about this knitting session and see you all on Friday! :)

reasons why: a working manifesto

Manifesto: a public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives, as one issued by a government, sovereign, or organization.

1. A fire burns within to see God’s justice come.

2. We’re set apart for God to do his work: bringing all creation into right relationship with him. To proclaim the gospel not only through words, but through actions.

3. We believe our flawed and incomplete efforts are better than no effort at all.

4. God’s love and salvation not only transforms personal, spiritual salvation, but has power to change the social, physical, emotional, and mental dimensions too.

5. We desire to join as a community to a journey for change, together through struggles and joys.
